Keeping Pace with the Market
Constantly evolving market conditions and changing client requirements have lead to a significant change in the wholesale lending business. As a result of these changes, lending now is closely integrated with investment banking and, increasingly, closely linked to the trading of marketable instruments. This integration has led to greater discipline in the use of credit and to the management and optimization of the capital associated with credit risk.

 

As a key business to RBC Capital Markets, and in light of these changes in the market, we have adapted by organizing our corporate credit business into two broad categories: one devoted to the disciplined allocation and structuring of loans for our clients and the other to investing in and optimizing credit risk. Our experienced professionals have developed specialized skills in each of these areas, allowing us to provide customized solutions that meet our clients ever changing needs.

 

The Global Credit Rotation Program
The Global Credit Rotation program is a flexible leadership program comprised of up to four rotations within a variety of disciplines over the course of 18 to 24 months. Working closely with professionals in corporate and investment banking, trading, risk management and other areas of RBC, candidates have the opportunity to participate in a meaningful way in the structuring, syndication, risk analysis and management of corporate loans.

 

The Global Credit Rotation program targets high achieving individuals looking for the means for an accelerated career path. Positions are offered to MBA graduates who have excelled in their academics and possess strong interpersonal skills as well an interest in corporate lending. In order to optimize its effectiveness, the program allows candidates to customize their rotations by both function and geography within offices in Canada, the United States, and Europe. Although candidates are encouraged to capitalize upon the program's numerous opportunities, many find a permanent position within Global Credit even before completing a full set of rotations.
